How to think of a topic or plot?

Here are simple things that will help you on thinking of a topic or plot to your story:

1.) What you like- Yes, write what you like. Don't think of someone else's opinion or what topic is most famous nowadays. Just write what you like because if you do this, you can come up with a poem or a story that comes from your heart. The words and the flow of the story will just come out naturally because you like what you are doing.

Do you like romantic comedy poem, do it. Do you like horror? Write something about it. Do you like sci-fi? Start doing it.

Everything that will make you happy and you know you are good at writing. The end result will always be natural and so easy for you to write.

2.) What you have experienced- Most of the writers do it. They sometimes write exactly what happened to them. Sometimes, they give an additional story or flavor for it to have fire on the story.

Let me give you some questions for you to better understand what I am talking about. When was the last time you fell in love? You can use it as your topic and story. How did it start? When, where and how did you meet? What does it feel like to be with him/her? Why did it ended? or maybe aside from the love topic you can create a topic through your family and friends. What was your most unforgettable moments with them?

3.) What you can think of- Anything that comes out to your mind can be your topic. Sometimes you don't need to force yourself on thinking of a plot to your story or topic to your poem. There will come to a moment that you are just riding a bus and looking into the mirror and then boom. Here comes a topic.

One thing that can help you do that is to go out and explore things. By doing that, it will help you on think of any concept to your literary piece that you could never imagine.
